The Painters bike.

My friend the painter askt me if I can make him a taillight, he had some ideas of it. Here is what I started from, a old pipe bend of an exhaust and a broken taiwan ted taillight.
Made a sketch, to go from. Cut and opened the bend, made some weldind.
Made a template out of cardboard.
Then transferred it to a steel plate.Fits nice. Then weld it in place.
Some grinding with the angle grinder.
He also wanted a spine on it, so more welding and grinding.
OK time to make the fastening for the taillight. 2 pec of nuts welded to the inside bottom plate.
Here ar the tools I have used to make this taillight, tools you can find in any garage. If you build your bike you dont order parts from some post order book or do you?
Here the taillight is in place looks like something from outer space.... needs cutting.
 Cut at the line.
A small nice taillight ready for paint.

The Painters bike.

I always try to make four attachment pints to secure the gas tank to the frame and I always use rubber insulation to prevent ckracking. There is no shortcuts to happiness....
Closeup of the bung under the tank.
The front mount is made out of hevy steel, and used the old mounting place. No extra holes drilled in the frame.
The rear mount of the gas tank. This is welded on both sides of the tank. I will make a other bolt for this place, the devil is in the details.

Tools

Made a tool to pull out the bushing from a Dyna swingarm.
Still need to make a tool for the bearing cups on the other side.

The Painters bike.

Making some reinforcment for the rear fender.
Some small welds to se how it all fits together.
After a lot of fitting and testing, wery much welding much grinding the rear fender starts to look like something.
Made a small strut for the rear fender, the fender is attached in six places in the svingarm. The seat is going to be a bitch to make......

Small parts....

Needed to lathe a spacer ring to fit a projekt...
Made a special tool for old cadillac spokes.

The Painters bike.

Time for the tunnel. Making it quite wide so I can fit the electric there. The tank is also lowered quite much.
The welding is done on the tunnel. Now for the presure/leak test.
 Another view of the tunnel.
Looks good now, I just need to mount it to the bike.

The Painters bike.

Making a new gastank and some other parst for The Painter. Here is a fast mokup of the tank for his approval. When we are content with the lines of the tank then the work starts.
It is better to start with the top of the tank so you can beat out the small dents after welding.
I also removed the left side gas cap. More to come.

Shovelhead Frame work

Here is a frame that I rebuilt for a EVO engine, the changes can be seen as the old parts of the frame is sandblasted to remove the old paint and dirt. On this pic the frame is not ready yet. I used finnish made cast parts for this project.
From the other side.... not a wide ass bike. Sorry but I didn´t take any pics of the ready frame.... my bad.

The shop

Frames waiting for work........
This beats your office any time.

Giving canser to a shovel.....

Ok not my favorite engine from the HD family....... but work is work.
Remove the unnecessary parts from your untouched classic......
Stretch the front tubes, before you do that remove the old pipes and clean all the old welds on the neck. I use an long tube to help me center the neck when doing this part of the frame work.
 3" up and something forward
Hardtailing the rear, no computer bending here......
The frame is get there, much more to go.
 I need to stop shaking.
The frame came out superb, light and the lines are perfect.
Some small welds still to do but othervise this one is ready.

Roopes Bike

Roope is building his bike its a Honda SL 125cc 1978.
This is my old bike I started building it when I was 15 years old newer finnised it.

Here is the engine, it has some work done to it. But I will tear it down with Roope and se if its in shape and give maybe some more love to it....

Esmeralda, The twinkie killer.....

I started work on my bike, I dont want to change the frame on this bike because I know this bikes history.
Metal fab..... do you know what here is made?

Hardtail-Softail

The softail is centerd in the frame jig for chopping.....
Tadaaa, just as in the TV-show. OK back to real life.... No fiction here.
I hardtailed this 1999 Softail for a friend who wanted to use as much of the original parts as possible.
Like driveline, brakes, oiltank and so on.
I made an seat pan for him and instaled the rear fender from Paucho. Some small brackets for the oiltank and so on.
I also made brackets for the rear brake. This is going to be an nice fast riding bike.

A real death trap in the making

I were visiting my friend today, he showd me this 10" wide rim with an original spool, that has been modified with SMALLER bearings and no "centertube", IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING, ASK SOME ONE THAT KNOWS.
